Bilic springs West Brom surprise with Leicester City starting XI

It appears as though Albion will line up 3-4-3 in their first game back in the Premier League

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic has sprung something of a surprise with Albion’s first starting line-up of the season – a line-up that suggests that the Baggies will tackle Leicester City in a 3-4-3 formation.

Bilic has named Dara O’Shea, Kyle Bartley, Semi Ajayi, Darnell Furlong and Kieran Gibbs in his side, with Romaine Sawyers and Jake Livermore occupying the midfield spots as usual.

In attack, it appears as though Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira will operate either side of lone forward Callum Robinson – all three of those players have returned to the club on permanent deals after successful loans last term.

For Leicester, Brendan Rodgers has a few defensive injuries to deal with; Wes Morgan is injured and Jonny Evans is suspended, so midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will play alongside Caglar Soyuncu in the heart of defence.

Further afield, Harvey Barnes returns to The Hawthorns for the first time since his memorable loan spell in Albion colours in 2018.

Jamie Vardy, who has scored in each of his last four visits to the stadium, leads the line as expected, while there are starts too for Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet.
