Project host Carrie Bickmore marked the end of Melbourne’s strict coronavirus lockdown today by doing what many of her fellow citizens are no doubt eager to do: get their hair cut by a professional

The TV star told fellow panelists she ‘felt lighter’ with the new bob hairstyle, a radical departure from the long blonde locks she sported until Tuesday’s episode evening

Posting her new ‘do’ on Instagram after the episode aired, Bickmore thanked her hairstylist « for holding my hand and the scissors as I cut 2020 today! Yay lockdown is over »

She also thanked famous Channel 10 hairstylist Julie Bekiri « for pushing me to do something different with my hair Sometimes a change is as good as a vacation and there hasn’t been a lot of holidays this year! «

Bickmore and his co-hosts spoke about the first day out from Melbourne to Melbourne on top of Wednesday’s show

« If you haven’t been to a cafe or pub yet, you go to a – I’m going to a restaurant tonight with my wife, » said Peter Helliar

“And you went to brunch this morning,” Bickmore told Waleed Aly. “It’s not that I was stalking you… I saw your wife’s Instagram It was weird! «

Aly said lifting the lockdown was « great Melbourne is not a city of beaches, it’s a city of cafes and restaurants and things like that That’s what defines us »

After the lockdown was announced on Monday, an emotional Bickmore said she was relieved the news came as ‘desperation and anger’ began to permeate Melbourne

Helliar said he felt ‘strangely moved’ as he watched Victoria’s Prime Minister Daniel Andrews’ Monday presser ‘I felt strangely lighter One of our security guards asked me,’ How are you feeling? ” I said « I feel really good », and it was the first time I wanted to say this all year It’s funny because I was taken by surprise, « he says

Later in the show, the hosts bumped into elated Steve Price, enjoying a pint and a parma in one of the recently reopened pubs

« It feels like Melbourne Cup Day, Boxing Day and New Years Eve are all together Everyone has a smile on their face Everyone on the street always has a mask, but once you walk in and sit down everyone has a wow time This is probably one of the happiest days in Melburnian life forever, I think It’s just fantastic ”, a declared Price

O’Loughlin has admitted that she enjoys going « incognito » after 20 years as one of Australia’s best-known comedians
