The angry Mohamed Salah hid coach Jürgen Klopp when he was sent off when the Premier League clashed with Brighton in Liverpool

Salah started the clash on the south coast with Sadio Mane on the bench when Jürgen Klopp turned his squad to cope with a hectic schedule

Salah, 28, was absent from her last Premier League game against Leicester due to coronavirus and was withdrawn after an hour against Atalanta in the middle of the week

But despite being fresh against Brighton, he was the man who gave way to Mane on the hour just after Diogo Jota put the Reds in the lead

Salah threw up his hands in disgust as his number appeared on the board and shook his head as he left the field

After the high-fiving mane, he didn’t even look in the direction of Manager Klopp as he stormed into the stands and sat down without saying a word to teammates or employees

Salah’s frustration was clear and there was more cause for excitement as Brighton earned a point on a Pascal Gross late penalty awarded after VAR examined an Andy Robertson challenge against Danny Welbeck

« On the day that Mo Salah is fine when he leaves the field, something is wrong, » said Klopp after the game

Klopp had once again used four attacking players on his starting line-up, with Salah being accompanied by Jota, Roberto Firmino and Takumi Minamino and Mane just sitting on the bench

Since Jota’s arrival and recent standout form, Klopp has on occasion turned away from the 4-3-3 formation that has served Liverpool so well in recent years

When Salah spoke last week, he insisted on his delight at Jota’s influence and made it clear that he has no problem with the formation change

« We are happy for him. As teammates we try to push each other every day during training

« So when you see someone coming and scoring, you’ll be happy for them too, because you have the feeling that they will help your team and make it easier for us in the first place »

« Hopefully that happens over and over and over again. Scoring a few goals is a good way for him to start with confidence

« Having someone who can score is a great option for us. Now we can play four together with Diogo or we could still play three »
