EbeneInfo – GB – Alan Rickman’s most famous role as a fan is celebrating the fifth anniversary of his death

Alan Rickman fans celebrated the fifth anniversary of the legendary actor’s death and shared cute videos, photos, and memories of the star

In 2015 he suffered a minor stroke that was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer

During his legendary career, Rickman has been astounded in wide ranging roles, from the misunderstood Severus Snape in Harry Potter and the vicious Hans Gruber in Die Hard to the Seraph Metatron in Dogma

While Snape is such a big part of him, it’s certainly not the only part he remembers, and his legacy lives on

In 1989, Rickman played in Die Hard alongside Bruce Willis’ John McClane as the internationally feared terrorist Hans Gruber

Rickman took on the role of Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves in 1981 and gave the role a combative performance to be remembered

They say he was a huge influence on the script and actually rewrote parts of it with comedian Ruby Wax to make sure he had some good lines

In 1995, Rickman appeared in the period drama Sense and Sensibility, which began his incredible collaboration with Emma Thompson

He played as the warm and honorable Colonel Brandon and proved that he could crush an understated performance as well as his dramatic and humorous

Probably Rickman’s most famous role of all was in all eight Harry Potter films from 2001 to 2011 as Professor Severus Snape

In particular, he was the only person who told JK Rowling what the word « always » meant to Snape, as we find out in the later books and films that he was in love with Harry’s mother Lily

The actor said at the time, « [It] helped me to think that it was more complicated and that the story wasn’t going to be as straight forward as everyone thought

« If you remember when I made the first movie, she had only written three or four books, so no one but her knew where it was really going »And it was important for her that I know something, but she only gave me a tiny bit of information that helped me believe it was an ambiguous path’

Love It was actually a slightly more unusual role for the actor, but he still brought a legendary performance to the table as the cheating husband of Thompson’s character

The two national treasures produced one of the most heartbreaking storylines to ever grace a rom-com, which resulted in Thompson’s character withholding their heartache over a Joni Mitchell CD

The 1999 comedy Dogma saw Rickman perform in what is perhaps the most bizarre role of all time, Seraph Metatron

His hilarious achievement went down in film history, and the film, which also starred Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, became a cult classic

In 2005, Rickman voiced the Marvin the Paranoid Android in the iconic adaptation of the science fiction series directed by Douglas Adams from

In Tim Burton’s star-studded adaptation of Sweeney Todd, Rickman starred as Judge Turpin alongside Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen

It was the first time in his days on stage that Rickman had to sing in a role

Rickman voiced the character of The Caterpillar and worked again with the likes of Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter

The movie’s sequel, Alice Through The Looking Glass, was Rickman’s final film, after all, and fans heard his voice posthumously in the final film

In another of Rickman’s final films, Eye in the Sky in 2015, Rickman starred in an action thriller alongside Helen Mirren and Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad

Mirren told Radio Times about his performance: « I know Alan: the funny, thoughtful Alan and not the villain he played so brilliantly

« I hope I’m not speaking out of place, but I think if Alan had had the choice he would have been proud of it as his last film »

« The topic is absolutely where his intelligence was. He was very politically aware, conscientious and thoughtful. I am sure that is why he would have chosen it in the first place »

He has switched his craft to almost every genre and will be remembered by fans, friends and co-stars alike for years to come
