EbeneInfo – USA – WarnerMedia stands by Walter Hamada after new allegations from Ray Fisher

WarnerMedia is sticking to Walter Hamada even as the president of DC Films faces a new and ongoing attack from Ray Fisher, the actor who played cyborg in the failed blockbuster Justice League in 2017

The company released a statement Thursday, the day after Fisher posted his own comments on Twitter, accusing the executive branch of undermining an investigation into wrongdoing alleged to have taken place during the Justice League re-admissions >

« I believe in Walter Hamada and that he did not interfere or interfere with the investigation, » said Ann Sarnoff, chairman and CEO of WarnerMedia, in a statement Leader known by his peers, co-workers, and me as a man of great character and integrity As I said in Walter’s recent contract renewal announcement, I am excited to see where he takes DC Films and look forward to working with him and the rest of the Teams work together to build the DC Multiverse «

The dispute between Fisher and Warners goes on Jan. Back July 2020, when the actor claimed on Twitter that writer and director Joss Whedon abused the Justice League set, Whedon took over the film after Zack Snyder resigned over a family tragedy, Fisher went on to claim that producers Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, who were co-presidents of Warner’s DC Films division, Whedon’s alleged behavior enabled Whedon, Johns and Berg had no comment

The two parties have since grappled over Twitter and company counter-statements, despite an investigation opened in August that drew into the fall. Things got tense when on Sept. 4, Warner Bros issued a statement alleging that Fisher was not cooperating with the third party investigators investigating these allegations. Fisher denied this in a statement of his own and later found support from Justice League co-star Jason Momoa

It is unclear when the investigation officially closed, but on Nov. 24, Whedon announced he was retiring from The Nevers, a show he created for WarnerMedia’s HBO division. WarnerMedia announced the completion of the investigation in December 11 said « remedial action » had been taken

Far from staying silent, Fisher reopened an offensive against Hamada at the turn of the year and continued Wednesday He accused the executive branch of trying to « cover up » Johns

« I claim that Walter Hamada is unsuitable for a leadership position – and I am ready to take a polygraph test at any time to support my claims against him, » Fisher wrote in a long Twitter post. « I don’t know how many cases of workplace abuse Walter has attempted to cover in the past but hopefully the Justice League investigation will be the last »”

WarnerMedia issued a separate statement alongside Sarnoff summarizing the side of the trial The « extensive » investigation was « conducted by an outside law firm run by a former federal judge who has assured WarnerMedia that the investigation was not obstructed » , and the company no longer gave Fisher the opportunity to re-investigate Cyborg’s role in an upcoming Flash film, « given his testimony that he was not involved in any film with Mr. Hamada ”; and that it stays in business with Johns, who is an executive producer on shows like Stargirl, Batwoman, and Doom Patrol
