Emmerdale fans were left utterly confused tonight as Kirin Kotecha returned tonight after four years – but he looked very different.
Over the last few months, Charity has been trying to hunt Kirin down so that she is able to adopt Vanessa’s son Johnny if her lover tragically dies from cancer.
Tonight, Kirin finally made an appearance after escaping the Dales back in 2016 following a hit-and-run, which resulted in villager Tess’ death.
But Kirin looked different to how viewers remembered him as actor Rish Shah has replaced Adam Fielding in the role.
This evening, Charity explained to Priya that if Kirin were to show up now that it would only complicate the adoption process
Little did they know that someone was watching from afar and later, Priya was left stunned when she was approached by Kirin, who asked her for money.
Recalling what Charity said earlier, Prita told him that she would call the police unless he left.
Later on in the week, Kirin approaches Priya again and asks to see Johnny, but she refuses to let him and informs him that Charity is adopting him.
Kirin is shocked and insisted that he won’t allow her to do so and rages that Priya won’t give him money.
Instead, he decides to try and get money from Charity, who is hopeful about the future and tells Tracy that she’s passed all the background checks in the adoption process.
Yet Kirin throws a spanner in the works when he tells her that he will make it impossible for her to adopt Johnny unless she gives him money.
Charity hands him the money, but he is shocked when he discovers the news about Vanessa’s cancer diagnosis…
