West Ham are interested in signing Brighton winger Solly March this summer, according to 90 Min, with the report claiming they are leading the chase.
Newcastle, Everton and Wolves are also reportedly monitoring the winger’s situation, but the Hammers are supposedly in the lead for his signature.
The 26-year-old has been impressive at times for Brighton in the Premier League and he is reportedly valued at around £15 million.
Everton U18s beat Blackburn U18s 2-1 this morning, coming from a goal down to pick up three points on the opening day.
George Wyatt opened the scoring for Blackburn after two minutes, before goals from Sean McAllister and Charlie Whittaker turned the match around.
Man City, Burnley, Tottenham, Arsenal and Aston Villa also won in the U18 Premier League today, while Brighton drew with Chelsea.
Arsenal are now two goals up at Fulham with the second half having just kicked off, and Gabriel has scored on his debut.
It was assisted by fellow debutant Willian, after Arsenal took the lead through Alexandre Lacazette in the first half.
« He can defend well. He is a box-to-box midfielder. He can bring energy to the club and a different quality.
« We don’t have midfielders with his kinds of characteristics. We have midfielders with quality and midfielders who are tactically good.
« He is the only one who is box-to-box. I know him really well, what he did with Watford.
« He is a player with strong character and he uses that in games. These are the reasons he is a good signing for us. He is going to improve the quality of our squad. »
Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot is on Everton’s shortlist of targets, but they are only interested in signing him on loan, according to The Athletic.
Everton are looking to loan deals having spent a significant amount already this summer on the likes of James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure.
The big news ahead of tomorrow is that all three midfield signings are fit. They’ve all got to start, haven’t they?
But Arsenal signed the Brazilian from Lille instead. And he makes his debut for the Gunners under Mikel Arteta this afternoon as the Premier League gets underway.
Carlo Ancelotti admits that the new Premier League season will mean pressure is placed on his shoulders after he spent a significant amount this summer on transfers.
« I have to be honest – the squad is good and we reached the targets we had, » he said.
« It puts us under more pressure and that is also fair. I wanted to have a competitive squad and now I have it, so it is absolutely normal to take more responsibility to bring this team to fight for the first positions in the table.
« The target is clear – we have to fight for the first positions of the Premier League. »
Moise Kean is reportedly wanted on loan by his former club, Juventus, who have been struggling to get in a striker this summer.
Their move for Luis Suarez appears to have broken down, while they have also been linked with Olivier Giroud, only for the Frenchman to deny that speculation.
But a loan deal seems incredibly unlikely… Everton and Carlo Ancelotti have no interest in letting him depart in any form this summer, as reported here.
The first Premier League match of the season is today at 12.30pm UK time as Fulham take on Arsenal.
« James Rodriguez is a wait and see signing for Everton. Rodriguez, if he catches fire, could be a game-changer. But it hasn’t worked out for him for the last couple of years so we’ll have to wait and see, » Merson wrote in the Daily Star.
James scored 37 goals and supplied 42 assists in 125 appearances for Real Madrid and he has, of course, worked well with Carlo Ancelotti in the past.
But last month he claimed he had « received a good offer » from Everton, according to HITC.
At the age of 36, the Serbia international would not exactly be an obvious target, but he is a free agent having left Russian Premier League club Zenit Saint Petersburg.
Former England international Glenn Hoddle has been giving his thoughts on Tottenham vs Everton, which kicks off at 4.30pm UK time tomorrow.
« As for Spurs’ opponents on Saturday, it’s an exciting time for Everton fans with some of the buys brought in, » he said. « I’d fancy Everton more if they were at home, despite no fans.
« But, on balance, I’d make Spurs favourites for this one, as it might be four, five or six games further down the line before we see the best of this new, exciting Everton team brought together by Carlo Ancelotti. »
James Rodriguez is the big name, but Yerry Mina has some pressure of his own this season…
Everton are about to make a bid for Atletico Madrid full-back Santiago Arias, according to reports.
They could, though, face competition from Newcastle United and Wolves, according to claims from the player’s country.
Colombian radio station Caracol (via Sport Witness) make the claim, suggesting that the 28-year-old ‘seems destined’ to move to the Premier League.
Could the Blues be set to increase their Colombian roster even further, after the signing of James Rodriguez?
Everton and Leicester City have both had bids rejected for Barcelona’s Jean-Clair Todibo, according to reports.
Barcelona ARE looking to sell Todibo before the transfer window closes, as they do not have enough room for the centre-back.
But according to Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness), while they have now received two offers for Todibo – both of which came from the Premier League – they deem neither of them suitable.
And that means lots of predictions are made! Some will prove to be right, and others will most certainly not…
The Premier League is back and we will have all the buildup ahead of Everton’s visit to Tottenham on Sunday.
