As British Columbians watch some daily numbers in the province decline, including daily and active cases, they may be tempted to deviate from the strict public health rules currently in place

But the Prime Minister says there is « a lot more work to be done » in the fight against COVID-19 in front of residents of BC. can and should relax

John Horgan spoke to the media about a drop in cases in the past few weeks at a press conference Thursday

He thanked those who still obey the rules as BC. trying « to fight this virus in our own ways and in our own communities, but we still have a lot to do »

He described the conference as an update on what the government did in the first two weeks of the new year and what’s coming next

So far he has attended a ministerial meeting with other provinces, which also included how the other leaders are dealing with the novel coronavirus

He said the cabinet was focused on a number of issues, including economic recovery and the long-term challenges that the disease will bring

You will attend a two-day virtual cabinet retreat on Thursday and Friday that will focus on strategic planning in addition to responding to the pandemic, this retreat will include discussions on inequality, childcare and housing

« I think British Columbia is very well positioned to take off as we leave the pandemic behind in the months ahead and focus on getting back to a place where we enjoy and ensure the splendor and bounty of British Columbia that we can address these fundamental problems »Challenges that have been here a long time, » he said

Horgan said more information on the province’s vaccine launch strategy will be provided in a press conference with the Minister of Health and B.C.next week top doctor
