Singer Gwen Stefani shared how her siblings got her to listen to the British band Madness growing up

The California-raised No Doubt singer has revealed how she was introduced to the ska music genre, reports contactmusiccom

« I was 17 when my brother got into these skabands and discovered music from England and this band called Madness and brought home all of their records, » Stefani said

« When we got to Madness it felt like weird underground music and they really sang about their culture and Camden Town, and we really looked to England and London – that music and Stiff Records that got us to reggae and led all the ska acts and they formed a scene, ”added Gwen Stefani

« I was standing in the kitchen the day that song came out and Blake came in and said, » Oh my god, you’re number 16 on iTunes « I just cried and I didn’t even know I felt this way « said Stefani
