A serious crash near Crawley is causing heavy delays on the M23 this afternoon (September 14).
The southound carriageway is closed following a smash involving two cars just before 2.30pm.
The accident is understood to have taken place between junction 10A B2036 Copthorne Way to junction 11 A23 for Pease Pottage.
Queuing traffic is now stretching for two miles with congestion leading back to junction 9 for Gatwick Aiport, reports SussexLive.
A diversion route has been set up with drivers asked to follow the hollow triange symbol along the A2011 past Sainsbury’s and the A23.
