A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a lorry driver died in a collision on the M5.
Gloucestershire Police were called to reports of a Ford Fiesta losing control on the M5 northbound carriageway at 5.20am on Sunday.
A lorry had stopped to protect the Fiesta from passing vehicles and to check on the welfare of its driver when a second lorry collided with the first lorry, a force spokeswoman said.
The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 21-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and on suspicion of driving under the influence of drink and/or drugs.
Gloucestershire Police said officers investigating the crash wanted to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident or witnessed what happened.
