Matthew Wright and his wife Amelia say stalker threatened to ‘take’ his baby girl

Matthew Wright and his wife Amelia opened up about their « horrible » ordeal with a stalker who threatened to take their baby daughter Cassady

Last week Michelle Ranicar, 53, admitted that a count of harassment caused serious concern or distress between November 2018 and May 2019 at Wood Green Crown Court

The Wrights welcomed their baby girl in January 2019 after an eight-year battle to have a child that included multiple cycles of failed IVF treatment and an ectopic pregnancy

Matthew, 55, told Lorraine Kelly on his daytime show Monday that it started with Ranicar appearing regularly in audiences for The Wright Stuff

« I was sympathetic to everyone in the audience, but I didn’t know she had started to develop the idea that we were having a relationship, » he said

Amelia, 42, recounted how Ranicar approached her at a charity event while she was heavily pregnant, stating that she was « deeply shocked » when the stalker said: « The women of your age are more likely to have a stillbirth «

The couple said Ranicar managed to find their address despite their attempts to avoid being followed and that she showed up to their home a few days after the incident at the charity event

« I was alone the first time She was trying to push her hand through the mailbox saying, » I want the baby, I want the baby Give me the baby «

Matthew said his wife was deeply affected by the experience, before commending the police for their help

« I didn’t want to come out of the house because she said she wanted to tear the baby off, » Amelia said

« You can imagine how you just live in fear and terror and you don’t want to go out »

She said she was « still shaken » by the experience and would have involved the police from the first incident if she could have done things differently
