The Yankees get some big bats back as they gear up for big game against the Blue Jays.

The Yankees picked up a much needed sweep over the weekend when they took four games over the Orioles, ending what had been one of the worst stretches in recent memory. However, things aren’t getting any easier.

Next up for the Yankees is the Blue Jays, who took two out of three against them just last week. The Yankees come into this series trailing Toronto by half a game in the AL East standings. The last series in Buffalo was less than ideal, but the Yankees lineup has gotten an upgrade going into today’s game.

Earlier today, the Yankees made several moves, including activating Giancarlo Stanton and Gio Urshela off the injured list. Those two went straight into the lineup for today’s crucial matchup.

To try and get this big win, the Yankees will send Deivi García to the mound. The rookie is making his fourth start, the most recent of which was a very important win against this same Blue Jays team. Back on the 9th, he allowed two runs on five hits (no walks) with six strikeouts in seven innings.

Toronto will be starting Taijuan Walker, who faced the Yankees back on September 8th. He held the Yankees to no runs, but was also knocked out after four innings after walking five.
