Archer Materials Ltd (ASX: AX) (OTCMKTS: ARRXF) (FRA: 38A) has reached an important technological milestone with electronic transport in a single qubit at room temperature

This represents a significant technical achievement, as the electronic transport measurements were carried out on a single qubit only a few hundred atoms in diameter and at room temperature

The shares are up more than 32 percent to 1 AUD06, a new record high for the company with a market capitalization of approx 180 AUD5 million

The company used semiconductor foundry equipment worth more than 150 million AUD and some of the world’s most advanced tools to complete the latest 12CQ technology validation

Mohammad Choucair, CEO of Archer, said: “By building our 12CQ chip to operate at room temperature and integrate it on board electronic devices, we are pushing the boundaries of what is technologically possible in the world today

“The importance of electronic transport in a single qubit at room temperature cannot be stressed enough as it will have a positive and comprehensive impact on the development of the 12CQ chip

“The work clearly shows that a single qubit – the basic quantum information that a material component of the 12CQ chip contains – can be used to build“ gate ”semiconductor devices

Archer successfully performed the direct measurement of the two-terminal resistance at room temperature of the qubit material that is the core component of the 12CQ chip

Current-voltage traces were recorded repeatedly and reproducibly over different voltage ranges on individual isolated qubits, two-qubits and qubit clusters

The qubits were advantageously robust and withstood damage or changes in an electronic structure during the measurement

The results provide the necessary quantitative data and component-level information that directly confirm the qubits’ ability to operate within the electronic parameters required for functional, controlled semiconductor devices at room temperature

It shows that the company continues to operate successfully and with a high level of control in the development and marketing of qubit chips

Archer is currently performing quantum measurements and material characterizations at various laboratory facilities as part of the company’s technology development work package, which is focused on qubit control
