News – AU – Black Satellites wants to win Gambia and secure first place

Coach Abdul Karim Zito described the last group game of the CAF U20 African Nations Cup (U20 AFCON) on Monday against Gambia as an important game for Ghana
The Black Satellites head coach insists that his team is ready to claim a victory over the Gambians and keep the top spot in Group C and qualify for the next stage
“It will be an interesting game for a number of reasons. Although we have a leg in the next round, we want to be at the top of the group for ourselves. They will also want to come out and fight for qualification,” said coach Zito at the pre-game press conference on Sunday morning
The Ghanaian gaffer admitted that Group C is still open and that all countries still have a chance of the next stage, but was confident that his team had what it takes to secure a win on Monday
“Anyone in this group can qualify. We were unlucky not to win our last game and that makes tomorrow’s game a must for Ghana”
“In terms of goals, we can say we are ahead of others, but our priority is to be at the top”
“I know they are preparing really well for the game, but we are also ready to face them,” said the head coach
The other Group C game between Morocco and Tanzania in Nouakchott starts at the same time as the game at the Stade Municipal Nouadhibou
The games start at 7 p.m.
