News – AU – College basketball postseason tournament canceled


For the second year in a row, one of the college basketball postseason tournaments will not be played Thursday the CollegeInsidercom Postseason Tournament (CIT) announced that the event had been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic

The tournament posted a statement announcing the news and expressed disappointment with the cancellation, the CIT also noted that the right steps were being taken to host the 2021 NCAA tournament and that those involved in the CIT were in place This year people will enjoy March Madness along with everyone else

The safety and well-being of athletes, coaches, administrators and fans is of the utmost importance, which is why we feel it is advisable not to hold our event this season

The NCAA has done everything to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants in the 2021 NCAA tournament We look forward to taking a break and watching the world’s best annual sporting event ”

The CIT has been played since 2009 and, like other tournaments in the country last year, was canceled at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in the US The youngest winner of the CIT was Marshall in 2019 The Thunder Herd defeated Green Bay in this year’s championship game

This year’s NCAA tournament will look very different from the past of the year as the entire event will take place in Indiana March, start with the first four games.The first round promotion will follow on Saturday, March 19th March and Sunday the 20th March The second round is for Monday the 21st March and Tuesday 22nd March planned

The entire tournament will be played in Indiana 55 of 67 games take place in Indianapolis, locations include Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, as well as Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indiana Farmers Coliseum and Lucas Oil Stadium
