Two Swedish geologists discovered a meteorite weighing almost 14 kilograms near the town of Enkoping – one that many people say saw it fall to earth last year – says the Swedish Royal Natural History Museum
The rock is said to be the main piece of a meteorite impact that occurred on Jan. November was observed, the museum said in a statement
This is the first time in more than 60 years that a meteorite has been found in Sweden after its fall was observed
Countless people in Sweden reported that on Jan. Seeing a ball of fire on November 11th that lit the sky for about three seconds
The astronomer Eric Stempels from Uppsala University then calculated the approximate impact location northwest of Stockholm, where smaller fragments were later found
The main piece now discovered is about 30 centimeters long and probably represents the largest fragment of the meteorite, which, according to Stempel, weighed about 9 tons when it entered the atmosphere
