PARIS, February 23 (Reuters) – The New York Stock Exchange opened lower on Tuesday, penalized among other things by the drop in values technology and by the caution before the much awaited Senate hearing of Jerome Powell, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve

The latter could speak, among other things, on the prospects for an economic recovery, on the rapid rise in bond yields and on the evolution of inflation expectations, one of the main concerns of the moment on the markets

A few minutes after the start of trading, the Dow Jones index lost 103.87 points, or 0.33%, to 31417.82, the wider & Poor’s 500 Standard fell 1.01% to 3837.32 and the Nasdaq Composite yields 2.56% to 1318595

The latter is now down more than 6.5% from its record on February 16, the major technology stocks having been the first to suffer from the doubts of some investors about the valuation levels of shares

Tesla fell 9.09%, still penalized by the current correction in bitcoin (-12.45%), in which he has invested at least $ 1.5 billion
