France Inter and its listeners mourn Isabelle Dhordain The journalist and music critic, who has long hosted Le pont des artistes on France Inter, a show where she helped many musicians get started, has died, public radio announced on Sunday
The radio, which echoed his death on its airwaves, is preparing a tribute which will be broadcast on its antenna “Music is losing one of its ambassadors,” music director Jocelyn Perrotin said on Twitter.
Born in 1959, Isabelle Dhordain had radio in her blood and the Round House was like a second home: she was the daughter of Roland Dhordain, one of the founding fathers of modern radio and a great voice of France Inter, and by Elisabeth Lansac, actress and producer of France Culture Passionate about music, she made her debut in a free radio, then joined her father at France Inter and launched with him Le pont des artistes, a program she had presented from 1988 to 2013
