News – GB – Alpine renews partnership with Mecachrome F1


Alpine has extended its more than two decades long partnership with component manufacturer Mecachrome by signing a new four-year contract

In its earlier guise as Renault, the team and Mecachrome had a long-term engine relationship, with the latter providing the “assembly service” for the French manufacturer’s engines

The link between the two parties went back to the time Fernando Alonso won his two world titles in 2005 and 2006 and continued in the absence of a Renault factory team to back Sebastian Vettel on his four titles between 2010 and 13 Red Bull

The new contract reflects the existence of the current V6 turbo hybrid engines before a new engine is introduced from 2025

Laurent Rossi, Alpine CEO, said: “Working with a historic partner like Mecachrome is an asset to our project to return to the highest level of F1

“Continuity is a strength in this highly competitive and ever-changing sport. We have many success stories to look forward to together” ”

Alonso has returned from the sport after two years and is this year partner of Esteban Ocon at Alpine The team got their car on Jan. March launched

Christian Cornille, CEO of Mecachrome, expressed his pride in the new deal, adding: “We are very proud of the renewed confidence in Alpine Racing

“With new investments in support of this development, the Mecachrome teams remain deeply involved to help make this project a success”
