The outstanding Filipino youth chess team Al Basher Buto came with an unbeaten run to victory in the 2 Online chess tournament of the Jessie Villasin Cup via Lichessorg on Saturday 20th February 11-year-old prodigy at Faith Christian School in Cainta, Rizal, scored five wins and two draws for six points, half a point ahead of silver finisher John Curt Valencia from Dasmariñas City, Cavite and Christian Arca from Panabo City, Davao del Norte in the Seven Round Quick Tilt (five minutes plus five seconds timing) Buto, who played for the national team at the 2020 FIDE Online Cadet and Youth Rapid World Championships, defeated Stephanie Jabagat from Puerto Princesa City, Quarl Vera Cruz from Misamis Oriental, Oshrie Jhames Reyes from Santa Rita, Pampanga, Arena GM Arca and Christian Tolosa from Imus, Cavite in the first five rounds

The Filipino prodigy, affectionately known in the chess community as “Basty”, shared the points in the last two rounds with Valencia and Gabriel Ryan Paradero of Pasig City, It was a relief for Buto after seeing himself at the opening event of Jessie Villasin Cup, organized by the Libangan team of Mobile Chess Club Philippines, had satisfied with second place behind Ivan Travis Cu from San Juan City
