DANCING on Ice fans were furious after the show failed to confirm whether Joe-Warren Plant and Vanessa Bauer will be back next week

The Emmerdale actor and his professional partner were forced to retire from the ITV show last Saturday after testing positive for coronavirus

The show bosses then decided to take the skating competition off the air for a week after Joe and Vanessa became the fourth couple to suddenly pull out and other contestants reported injuries

Fans of Joe and Vanessa were hoping the week off would allow them to get back to the competition, and The Sun announced earlier this week that they could make a comeback if they next with enough practice time for the show Sunday would test negative

However, after today’s special episode that looked back on the history of the show, the next week’s show was teased

Host Phillip Schofield was heard in a voiceover that revealed which celebrities, including Rebekah Vardy and Faye Brookes, were going to hit the ice

But fans were disappointed when they realized that Joe hadn’t been mentioned and hoped they would see him skating again

On Twitter, one fan wrote: “Sorry, but grumpy, Vanessa and Joe should be allowed back next week, they only missed a week and are no longer isolated””

A third agreed and wrote, “Hmmmm, so Joe Warren wasn’t mentioned at the end of the show Does that mean he won’t come back after all? “

The news comes hours after Joe, 18, and Vanessa, 24, hugged as they left the hotel where they isolated for 10 days after their positive Covid test result

The stars were seen hugging outside the Buckinghamshire venue One viewer said, “They’ve been hugging for ages, it looked like they wouldn’t let go”

Both are single after Joe, 18, split from model Nicole Hadlow in the run-up to Dancing On Ice

They later posed side by side for a selfie with Vanessa, 24, declaring, “At least I wasn’t alone in this”
