News – UK – Result: Luton 1-1 Millwall: George Evans scores the final score for the visitors

George Evans equalized stoppage time to give Millwall a 1-1 draw at Luton and extend the unbeaten league run to nine games

A few seconds left and the midfielder beat Simon Sluga from close range and scored his first goal for the club since arriving from Derby in the transfer window

The hosts made five changes to their side after a disappointing loss at Stoke on Saturday but got off to a quick start when Ryan Tunnicliffe pulled from 20 yards

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s free kick from just outside the box was blocked by the Lions wall Joe Morrell’s ambitious 30 yard follow-up was saved by keeper Bartosz Bialkowski

After 25 minutes, the Lions should have taken the lead when home skipper Sonny Bradley gave the ball away and Tom Bradshaw went clean on Sluga, but his touch was heavy and the town stopper wasn’t in line to save

Just before half an hour, Luton had a good chance when Morrell’s cross was knocked down by Jordan Clark and shot on goal Bialkowski collected deep down

The Lions then had their best pressure, Jed Wallace’s flank was picked up by Bradshaw, who knocked off Ben Thompson, the midfielder who slashed wildly wide

Thompson failed another attempt a moment later and withdrew as neither side could take advantage in the first half

After the break, Luton showed first, with a good step from defense to attack, when Tom Ince cracked a try that was thrown over the bar by Bialkowski

The corner wasn’t cleared properly and came to Tunnicliffe, who returned a good ball to Elijah Adebayo when he picked up a touch and then managed to divert his efforts beyond Bialkowski

Adebayo could have made it 2-0 later, singled out by a wonderful winger from Clark, only to get past the back post

Kal Naismith pounded a hopeful volley into the stands from a distance, but Millwall made strong progress in the final stages

Scott Malone’s cross almost caught Sluga, the goalkeeper fell onto his own bar and behind it

The Croat then stood up superbly to prevent Mason Bennett’s shot from close range and tipped Wallace’s free-kick away before Mahlon rubbed Romeo off erratically after a rare short free-kick

Matt Smith volleyed off the back post after a low cross, but there was drama later in which Evans stole for a point
