One woman was taken aback after being sold by a pawnbroker 155£ 000 for a pair of diamond earrings and a Patek Philippe watch that she believed was only 17000 pounds were worth

Fran Sawyer, 52, of Beggarwood, Basingstoke, appeared on the first episode of ITV’s Million Pound Pawn – a new three-part series that explores the lucrative pawnbroker industry

On the debut show, which aired at 8pm, divorced Dan Hatfield, owner of Sheffield’s London Road Jewelers & Pawnbrokers, stated that she wanted to sell her watch and earrings to fund a “life-changing operation” for her disabled Son Alexander

Fran, who said she wanted at least 17000 pounds for the two items so she could take her son to a nerve specialist announced that Alexander was born with cancer he was 3 pounds when he was born and the tumor was 6 pounds on his back ‘

‘I really can’t get over it. For me, life is changing because it will help my son,’ added Fran as she admitted she will have a ‘kebab and four stellas’ over the weekend

Dan said, ‘It’s a good deal and I’m just happy to get it across the line for Fran and actually you know I made a pretty decent profit too, however the pawnbroker refused to take the profit, that he had made to reveal
