BURNLEY reportedly asked Tottenham £ 50m to sell Nick Pope this summer

Jose Mourinho is eager to find a replacement for Hugo Lloris and is considering a move for the Clarets shot stopper

The 28-year-old Pope has attracted attention this season due to his good form, playing nine clean sheets in 24 games against Burnley

Chelsea and West Ham knocked afterwards, but it appears Burnley is determined to keep him

His contract runs until 2023 with the option of an additional year, so his offer price was 50 million GBP set, reports LanchashireLive

Such a price tag is a blow to Spurs as they only spent £ 47 million net last summer

If Pope moved for that fee, the Clarets would make a staggering £ 485 profit after signing for £ 1.55 from Charlton in 2016

He’s been one of the league’s top goalkeepers this season, while the aging Lloris, now 34, is in decline

Pope has 92 saves this year compared to the French’s 73, and got an average WhoScored rating of 69

The goalkeeper is also an England international and his rating has been increased to reflect this

The France international spent nine years in north London but is now way past his best so it may be time to brush things up
