A study of patients with Covid symptoms months after the initial infection found five key symptoms

Among them is hair loss – more than a fifth of Long Covid patients lose hair within six months of the onset of the virus

According to the recently published study, women are more likely to experience symptoms

Scientists studying hospitalized patients in Wuhan, China found 359 out of 1655 patients with hair loss

The study published in The Lancet also found that fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, and joint pain were the primary long-term symptoms’

They added that alopecia – or hair loss – is “more common in women than men,” as is physical decline or post-activity fatigue and polypnea – rapid breathing, reports The Mirror

The report states: “Six months after the acute infection, the survivors of Covid-19 were mainly affected by fatigue or muscle weakness, sleep disorders, and anxiety or depression

“Patients who were critically ill during their hospital stay had greater impairment of pulmonary diffusion capacity and abnormal breast imaging manifestations and are the primary target group for long-term recovery interventions”

After hospital patients recovered and were discharged, they were later interviewed to assess their symptoms and health-related quality of life

After a six-month positive test, the most common symptom was fatigue or muscle weakness at 63 percent

It was followed by 26 percent sleep disorders Anxiety or depression were also reported in 23 percent of the patients
