News – UK – Tekashi 6ix9ine documentary director calls rapper a “terrible person”

Karam Gill said he initially hesitated to approach the subject of the highly controversial rapper

The director of an upcoming documentary series about controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has described him as “a really terrible person”

The three-part series Supervillain: The Making of Tekashi 6ix9ine debuts on Jan. February at Showtime in the US

Director Karam Gill, who failed to meet Tekashi (real name Daniel Hernandez) for the project, told page 6 that the interviews used in the series are from unreleased post-prison tapes acquired by his production team. p>

“I think viewers will be shocked to see how hyper-calculated [he] is,” said Gill. “Tekashi was someone who never did anything online in an accident, every click, word, and action in the Internet was carefully designed to generate a response ”

He said that he was initially unwilling to approach the project because he believed Tekashi was “a poisonous individual in our culture”

However, he apparently decided that it was “extremely important” to highlight the broader context of Tekashi’s rise to fame

“We live in the era of manufactured celebrity, where people can create fake online personas and become famous without talent or morals. Tekashi’s story is just that – he is someone who has recognized the power of having a platform of his own “He said

Tekashi’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, said on page 6, “It is the furthest from the truth. Danny’s talent speaks for itself and Danny is a good person”

“Daniel Hernandez was never interviewed for [the documentaries] and never participated. It’s interesting and almost unbelievable without ever meeting the person … how [the director] characterized him,” he added. “It’s hard to fathom Nobody can say anything about their talent and how he characterized him when he never met the person ”

In the trailer for the project, Tekashi says: “If I died today, I would be a legend I know that very well”

In 2018, the rapper was sentenced to two years in prison on blackmail and other charges. He was released last spring

On Sunday (14 February) an apparent standoff arose between Tekashi and rapper Meek Mill
