News – US – Dave Mustaines Gibson guitars are finally here

The Megadeth leader’s long-rumored collaboration with Gibson Brands has resulted in a trio of new Gibsons (including an acoustic), a new Kramer V, and more

Gibson Brands has announced a quartet of new Dave Mustaine signature guitars that are finally unveiling the first fruits of a long-whispered collaboration that the company only officially confirmed yesterday

The Dave Mustaine Collection will not only include new Gibson models, but also new Epiphones and Kramers It also marks the end of the Megadeth leader’s longstanding relationship with Dean Guitars, with whom he has been under contract for 15 years

As is often the case with Gibson shortly after an initial announcement, details and specs of the new guitars are hard to come by, but we know that the Dave Mustaine Collection will include at least three new electric guitars and, interestingly, new acoustics. p>

After Gibson uploaded a teaser video yesterday in which Megadeth mascot Vic Rattlehead removed a katana named from Megadeth’s legendary Rust in Peace album on his YouTube account, speculation blossomed that the Dave Mustaine collection This album – and indeed, Dave Mustaine Flying V’s 30th anniversary edition, Rust in Peace – confirms that speculation is true

The other two electrics included in the announcement are also, unsurprisingly, Vs, with one available in the form of the absolutely gorgeous Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP in metallic silver and the other in Sustaines first signature Kramer, the Dave Mustaine Flying is V avant-garde in nature

Gibson and Mustaine also unexpectedly teamed up to design an acoustic guitar, the luxurious looking Gibson Acoustic Dave Mustaine CF-100 Blood Burst

Although Gibson’s announcement of the Mustaine collection came with the promise of new Epiphone models, no details of Epiphone Mustaine signatures were released at the time of going to press

If we had to make an educated guess, we’d say it’s pretty safe to bet that the Gibson trio – especially Rust in Peace V – will land on the very high end of the price spectrum while the Kramers and Bei Epiphones the medium and affordable goals are achieved

“One of the first albums I ever bought was Kiss Alive. The back of this LP had the Gibson logo on it, followed by” Kiss uses Gibson guitars because they want the best ” Period, “Mustaine said of the announcement in a press release

“Years later, I’m still the same fan, but now I’ve played, toured, written, and played all over the world myself, and I can say I couldn’t agree with that statement anymore

“When looking to change my guitars, I met with Cesar [Gueikian, Gibson’s Chief Merchant Officer] and got his perspective on the vision and direction Gibson is taking. I saw passion, respect for the instruments, a focus on quality and a company run by guitarists I finally feel at home with Gibson and take pride in what we build together

“I can’t wait for the world to get its hands on the new guitars from the Gibson, Epiphone and Kramer Dave Mustaine Collection
