Fulton was charged by a grand jury on Wednesday on three grounds: sexual exploitation of a child, possession of child pornography, and preservation of child pornography, according to ESPN’s indictment
The federal case is being negotiated in the U District Court for Northern Iowa, Cedar Rapids Division Fulton’s indictment was unsealed Friday. A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday
According to Tony Morfitt, a spokesman for the incumbent U, Fulton faces up to 70 years in prison if convicted in S. Northern District Iowa Attorney Sean R Berry
According to the indictment, Fulton attempted to induce minors under the age of 18 to “conduct sexually explicitly in order to create visual representations of such behavior” with a Canon PowerShot camera in or about November 2020. Fulton had or knowingly attempted visual representations Possess depictions of a minor who is sexually explicit on a flash drive, including a depiction of a minor under the age of 12
Additionally, Fulton is alleged to have obtained and attempted to obtain child pornography through “interstate and overseas trade” as set out in the billing document. The camera and flash drive were purchased outside of the state of Iowa, making this an alleged federal crime
According to the Waterloo-Cedar Rapids Courier, Fulton was already awaiting trial for willful intent and domestic assault resulting from an incident in September 2019
Fulton, 43, holds the MMA record for career professional fights at 320. He is dubbed “The Ironman” in MMA for his record number of fights dating back to 1996
The Iowa native fought twice for the UFC in 1999 and went 1-1. Fulton (255-54-10, 1 NC) last fought in April 2019 on an M-1 Global Card in California
