News – USA – According to Doc Rivers, Sixers was focused on bigger goals than the All-Star game

The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the more talented teams in the league and this is currently evidenced by the number 1 East Conference 31 games in the season

Success like this means getting to the All-Star Game on Jan. Joel Embiid was chosen as the starter while Ben Simmons was named as reserve for the Eastern Conference, and that was to be expected, but there was a third player who arguably deserved an appearance , and this is Tobias Harris

Harris was unfortunately not accepted into the game despite having averaged career highs in points and field goal percentages, however, coach Doc Rivers says the team has bigger goals in mind

“We’re honestly playing for some bigger ones,” said Rivers, who will coach Team Durant in the game. “Building the All-Star team is phenomenal and I think we should have three. If we do that, great, if we don’t I still believe we should have three, but after that we move on to the next goal and the biggest goal for us is to win ”

You’d think Harris would be upset about the nudge he is likely to be, but it doesn’t take long guys brush this off and keep playing as hard as they can

“I don’t think anyone will be put off for the rest of the season,” Rivers finished. “You get disappointed for one night and then prove for the rest of the year that you should have made the All-Star Team”

The Sixers will face the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday to end a two-game road series at 7:30 p.m. European Daylight Saving Time
