Police arrested a suspect just before 12:50 p.m. today to end a massive manhunt in eastern Oahu after a 23-year-old man was fatally stabbed to death in Hawaii Kai this morning

Staff at Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to a report from a man who was stabbed in the upper body at the intersection of Hahaione Street and Hawaii Kai Drive at around 10:15 a.m.

Honolulu Police raided the Hahaione Valley and surrounding areas in search of the suspect. A police helicopter was also used in the search

The suspect was caught less than three hours later at Opihikao Place on Hawaii Kai Drive, but no further details were immediately available

The Hahaione elementary school was closed at around 10:30 am due to the police investigation and was opened at 1 am, according to the Ministry of Education
