MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A spring storm will hit Minnesota on Wednesday, threatening thunderstorms in the southern part of the state in the north.Some communities have been able to see six inches of snow.Tornado warnings have also been issued for areas around the southern underground Orbit output

Wind shear will be able to overcome cool spring conditions to create organized, possibly tornadic, T-storms in and near the viewing area

Meanwhile, a wind report will be in effect for several counties south of the twin towns and as far as western Wisconsin on Wednesday evening; westerly winds of 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph should be expected

In Northern Minnesota, History Will Be Snow The flakes will fall around noon in west-central Minnesota before pushing northeast and reaching the north coast in the evening. Three to six inches of snow is possible in Willmar as far as Brainerd Douglas, Pope, Stevens, and Todd counties will have a winter storm warning in place through midnight with the potential of up to 7 inches of snow and winds of up to 35 mph

Looking ahead, Thursday in the mid 40s will bring a gradual clearing with highs bringing sunshine and temperatures in the 50s expected to return this weekend
