Entering the 2021 recruitng cycle defensive end was a position of need for Penn State. While the Nittany Lions have missed on a lot of top targets, they have hit on Indiana defensvie end Rodney McGraw.

McGraw had 30 tackles in the team’s first two games of the season. This past Friday, the Elkhart Lions improved to 3-0 with a 57-6 victory over South Bend Washington. In the win, McGraw racked up four more tackles, including three tackles for a loss.

As was covered in last week’s article, McGraw is a candidate to pick up a 4th star. This past Friday’s 3.0 TFL performance only further solidified this. As we have discussed here in the past, McGraw appears to be playing himself into four-star status.

Jumping over to the state of Ohio, 2022 wide receiver commot Kaden Saunders had another big game.

Early on this season Saunders has been as good as any wide receiever in the country. Saunders is going to be an absolute weapon for Kirk Ciarrocca and the Nittany Lions when he gets to campus.

Penn State’s coaches have compared him to KJ Hamler and it is easy to see why. He is explosive, elusive in the open field, shifty, and an offensive spark plug. Saunders has an elite skill set that simply can not be taught.

While this week’s report on Penn State commits was a short one, that will change moving forward. Fingers crossed, but seven more Nittany Lion commits are set to kick off their high school seasons this weekend. So make sure to continue to check back here at Black Shoe Diaries each Wednesday for your weekly look at how Penn State commits performed the previous weekend.
