The final Premier League table has been predicted ahead of the first match of the 2020/21 season at Craven Cottage – and it won’t make for good reading for supporters of Liverpool, Leeds or Arsenal
Each of the 20 clubs have been ranked and rated on their chances of winning the title, qualifying for the Champions League and being relegated, which has offered up a prediction of total points.
Liverpool and Manchester City are unsurprisingly tipped to finish inside the top two, with more than one of the newly-promoted sides backed to slipped back down to the Championship.
In addition, north London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal are both set to miss out on the top four, with Chelsea and Manchester United finishing in the same positions as last season.
FiveThirtyEight have published the table ahead of the season opening clash between Arsenal and Fulham at Craven Cottage, and City are set to win the table by a comfortable eight points.
Liverpool are second with 80 points on the board, and are followed by United and Chelsea on 71 and 69 respectively. Next up are Tottenham and Leicester, with 57 points each.
Following the Foxes in seventh are Arsenal, with Wolves, Everton and Southampton making up the top ten. West Ham are 11th ahead of Burnley, Sheffield United and Brighton, with Crystal Palace and Aston Villa also comfortable.
That leaves Newcastle narrowing staying up on goal difference ahead of Fulham and Leeds, with West Brom rock bottom.
The tip for relegation is unlikely to go down well with Leeds fans, who have high expectations ahead of their return to the top flight. That stance saw former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara receive a backlash for his recent comments.
While on talkSPORT, he said: I’ll start this off and I think they are getting way over-hyped. Way over-hyped with everything that’s going on with Leeds right now.
“This is your first season back in the Premier League and I’m hearing people talking they are going to be top six. People are talking Champions League.
