Tyler Herro has claimed several playoff rookie records. In Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Herro — at 20 years, 256 days old — became the youngest player ever to start in the NBA Finals. He broke Magic Johnson’s record of 20 years and 264 days old which stood for 40 years.
In their Eastern Conference Finals series with the Boston Celtics, Herro claimed another playoff record as the youngest player to drop 30 points off the bench. He also surpassed Dwyane Wade 234 points in 2004 as the most by a Heat rookie in a postseason.

While most basketball fanatics are in awe of Herro’s stellar performance amid his age, his teammates are not really surprised. They know that Herro has been putting in the work. And the results are showing every night.
“It’s not a surprise that he’s playing at a high level right now for us, because he puts the time in when the light are not on,” Crowder said, per Ira Winderman of the South Florida South Sentinel. “So the way he prepares himself, the way he works, the way he dives into film, it’s paying off for him.
The NBA Finals will resume on Friday with Game 5. What record will Herro break next? And more importantly, can the Heat keep their title hopes alive?
