Ron Rivera is operating a long-term re-build of the Washington Football franchise. But, that approach is very difficult in this is a week-to-week, results-oriented business. I’m here to help with that balance of weekly performance within the context of a long-term perspective.

Last week, I gave out a few key buys, holds, and sells. Let’s take a glance at how they performed this week, and then we’ll dive into a few more picks for this week.

OC Scott Turner. I’m happy with this pick. Turner performed very well again this week, utilizing the quick passing game to get Haskins in a rhythm.

WR Terry McLaurin. Uh, yeah. Terry’s just straight baller. Reminds me of a young Larry Fitzgerald or a young Jerry Rice. If he stays healthy, he’s going to be G-R-E-A-T.

WR Isaiah Wright. Wright played fine. Another four catches, plus a 9-yard carry to go along with handling kick return duties. Wright is only going to continue to grow in this offense.

RB Antonio Gibson. Timed this one perfectly. Gibson broke out in a major way this week, with 128 yards and one TD on 17 touches. He looks like a legitimate No. 2 offensive option behind Terry McLaurin.

OT Geron Christian – Christian is not going to wow any fans of a franchise that has recently had Chris Samuels and Trent Williams as their long-term answers at LT for nearly two decades. But, he had zero penalties and gave up zero sacks against a quality Ravens defensive front. Washington fans should be pleased with his progression.
